Pigeon Repelling – Solution for Lightshafts and Open Spaces
Recesses in the lightshafts are the ideal nesting location due to weather protection and that its inaccessibility by the occupants.
Balconies of empty apartments and rear balconies in occupied ones are good locations. External AC units and facilities in the lightshafts create the best conditions for their establishment.
To remove the pigeons (killing or trapping is illegal in greece) in lightshafts and open spaces, we recommend:
Spike Systems
Spikes: The best choice to cover small openings or to prevent birds from sitting mainly on horizontal surfaces of limited width. Examples: External A/C units, headlamps, horizontal beams, etc.
The spikes are distinguished according to their construction material, in:
- entirely of polycarbonate
- entirely metallic, usually stainless
- polycarbonate base & metal, stainless steel “nails”
They are distinguished according to their width, from 8-18cm and length per piece, to: 0,33μ, 0,5μ & 1μ.
EVALUATION: An effective measure, most of the times, to protect specific points.
(Putting spikes on the handrail, do not prevent pigeons entering the balcony and polluting it)
Bird Netting
Netting: used to “close” spaces, small or large, eg balconies or skylights.
It can be installed either inside the tent or externally, without impeding its operation. The net is made of polyethylene and has a 5X5cm “eye” to repel pigeons.
Its durability can reach or exceed 10 years. It is stabilized and stretched with the use of stainless steel wire.
EVALUATION: The ultimate solution for pigeon control. Guaranteed long lasting results.
Its thin thickness (1mm), the large size of the “mesh” 5cm, its color (usually beige) combined with the correct placement, creates an impermeable wall for pigeons with a very low aesthetic burden for the occupants.
There is also the possibility of PARTIAL or TOTAL movement. Installation can also be done by you.
Using special bases of our own design, we stabilize on the panels (without drilling on them), galvanized steel mesh, where the side openings are hermetically sealed and the pigeons can not enter.
The grid is shaped to cover the “shape” of the tiles and leaves no margin for the pigeons to enter under the panels.
We also have special removable stainless steel spikes, which stabilize on the side of the panels, covering the changing space up to the tiles, with one simple move(up to 20cm).
